Privacy Policy

1. Who processes your data

The data controller is Ondrej Andrejco, author and operator of the ETS2 SVK MAP project.

This is a non-commercial hobby project. We process personal data to the smallest extent necessary.

2. What data we process and why

Visiting the website

The server automatically records your IP address, browser type and time of access. This is used to run and secure the site, mainly to block attacks and spam.
Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Traffic measurement

If you consent in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics for traffic statistics. We also track which source you arrived from (parameters in the address, e.g. utm_source) so we know which channels work. We evaluate this data in aggregate, not per individual.
Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time in the cookie settings.

Contacting us

When you contact us by e-mail or through a form on the website, we process your e-mail address, name or nickname and the content of your message so that we can reply.
Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Supporting the project and the Extended version

When you support the project via PayPal or bank transfer, we process your e-mail address, the name given with the payment and the payment record, so that we can send you access to the Extended version of the map and restore it if needed.

The payment itself is handled by PayPal or your bank. We have no access to your card number or your banking credentials.
Legal basis: performance of a contract and pre-contractual steps (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Contests and voting

If you enter a contest, we process your nickname, e-mail address, possibly your Discord name, the screenshots you submit, and — when voting — a technical record preventing repeated votes.

We may publish submitted screenshots on the project website and social media together with the author’s nickname. We always ask for this separately in the rules of each contest.
Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

E-mail news

If you subscribe, we send you announcements about new map versions and project news. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every message, or by e-mail.
Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Discord and social media

Our Discord server, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube are operated by those companies under their own privacy policies. We have no control over them. If you communicate with us through these platforms, we only process the content you send us yourself.

3. Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data and we do not provide it for third-party marketing. We share it only with the following providers, and only to the extent necessary to run the project:

  • our web hosting provider — running the website
  • Google (Google Analytics, Google Fonts) — measurement and page rendering
  • PayPal or your bank — payment processing
  • public authorities, where required by law

4. Transfers outside the European Union

Google and PayPal are companies based in the United States, so some data may be processed outside the EU. These transfers rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

6. Your rights

You have the right to request access to your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict processing, to object to processing based on legitimate interest, to receive your data in a portable format, and to withdraw any consent at any time.

Just write to ets2slovakia@gmail.com. We reply within one month at the latest.

If you believe we process your data incorrectly, you may lodge a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic, Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava, dataprotection.gov.sk. You may also contact the supervisory authority in your own country.

7. Children

Contests and the news subscription are open to people aged 16 and over. Younger participants need the consent of a legal guardian. The map itself can of course be downloaded and played by anyone — no data is needed for that.

8. Cookies

Details about the cookies we use can be found in our Cookie Policy.

9. Changes to this statement

We may update this statement if the way the project works changes. The current version is always on this page.
